Billy Gene Swick, 65, of Brownstown, passed away at 3:28 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Mr. Swick was born on April 3, 1953, in Seminole, Texas, the son of William "Dude" and Mary "Eileen" (Horn) Swick. He married Cheryl Ann Goldsboro on June 8, 1974.
Bill was a laborer and member of Laborers' Union Local No. 1197 out of McLeansboro. He was a member of Vandalia Moose Lodge No. 1447 and Brownstown United Methodist Church. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife; son, Chalen Swick; daughter, Terra and husband Wyatt Schnarre of Brownstown; and grandchildren, Chalen Swick II, Emslee Swick, Gavin Schnarre and Avery Schnarre, all of Brownstown,
