Carl R. DeMoulin, 82, of Vandalia, died on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in the emergency room at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Tom Fedrigon officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Mulberry Grove Cemetery in Mulberry Grove. Mr. DeMoulin was born on Aug. 2, 1930, in Rockford, the son of Walter E. and Sadie Pearl Stauffer DeMoulin.
He was an Army veteran, serving in Korea, and worked as a press assistant at The Leader-Union in Vandalia.
He is survived by a brother, Marshal DeMoulin of Virginia; sisters, Marlene Moore of Texas and Marcella Lawson of Maryland; nieces, Michele Fulk of Maryland and Gabrielle DeMoulin of Columbia; nephews, Michael DeMoulin of Florida and Stanley DeMoulin of Maryland; and several other nephews and nieces abroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Martin E. DeMoulin and Raymond L. DeMoulin.
