Cecelia "Lorene" Locke, 91, of Vandalia, passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at her home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Krista Stokke officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. Memorials: . Mrs. Locke was born on May 12, 1927, in Vandalia, the daughter of Everett H. "Pete" and Lucille A. (Janetzky) Hulskotter. She married Lewis D. "Cy" Locke on April 12, 1947, and together they had four children and celebrated 71 years of marriage.
Lorene was a retired secretary for the Petroleum Museum in Midland, Texas. She was also formerly employed by Exxon Credit Union in Midland, Texas; LB Hoss in St. Elmo; and Boley's Auto Sales in Vandalia. She was a current member of St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia, Crawford-Hale American Legion Unit 95 Auxiliary and ExxonMobil Annuitants Club. Lorene was a former member of the Santa Rita Club in Midland, Texas, and Vandalia Woman's Club.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Lewis D. "Chip" Locke Jr. of Baytown, Texas, and Leslie K. "Les" Locke of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Lynette K. and husband David R. White of Vandalia; brothers, James L. "Jim" Hulksotter and wife Loann of Cleveland, Minn., and Michael L. "Mike" Hulskotter of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandchildren, Morgan, John, David II, Jeremy, Courtney, Julian and Stacy; and great-grandchildren, Amelia, Zackery, Davin, Hayley, Leif, Marlee, Sven and Zavier.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Linda Jo Locke.
