Charles E. "Charlie" Schilling II, 55, of Vandalia, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with Masonic rites at 11 a.m. Memorials: . Online condolences can be expressed at www.millerfh.net.
Mr. Schilling was born on Oct. 25, 1961, in Vandalia, the son of Charles E. and Ruby A. (Oldham) Schilling. He married Denise Lisette Enloe on Nov. 15, 1996, in Pocahontas.
Charles was a retired sergeant at Vandalia Correctional Center, and a member of Temperance Lodge N. 16 A.F.&A.M. in Vandalia, York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Southern Illinois and Ainad Temple Shrine of East St. Louis.
He is survived by his wife; sons, C.J. Schilling and his wife Jessika, and Aaron Koonce and his wife Rochelle, both of Vandalia; sisters, Cindi Schilling and Paula Kious, and Leann and her husband Mark Sarchet, both of Vandalia; and grandchildren, Avalynn, Cooper, Kamren, Lincoln and Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
