Cloide "Junior" Carruthers, 88, of Ramsey, died on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at First Baptist Church of Ramsey, with the Rev. Jeff Shouse officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Union Cemetery in rural Vandalia. Visitation was to be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour before services on Thursday, both at the church. Memorials: First Baptist Church of Ramsey or The Manna Foundation Hope Health in Gallatin, Tenn. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Carruthers was born on Aug. 16, 1929, in East Troy, Wis., the son of Claude and Ima Samantha (Hardiman) Carruthers. He married Patty Ann Kelly on Sept. 18, 1954, in Vandalia.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Bruce Carruthers and Susie of Strasburg, Robert "Bob" Carruthers and Melissa of Jacksonville, Tim Carruthers and Eydie of Effingham, and Kelly Carruthers and Ann of Louisville, Ill.; and daughters, Lorre Winter and Howard of Salem, Terry Evans and Greg of Effingham, Amy Campbell of Tyler, Texas, Kathy Johnson and Ted of Bowling Green, Ky., Heidi Gipson of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jill Abrams and Mitch of Portland, Tenn.
