Connie L. Gipson Moreland, 64, of Pana, died on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pana, with the Rev. Rodney Schwartz officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded, with private inurnment at a later date. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, with a rosary at 3 p.m., at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana. Mrs. Moreland was born on Feb. 13, 1949, in Bloomington, the daughter of John and Evelyn Butzirus. She married Harold Moreland on May 15, 2010, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pana.
She lived most of her life in the Pana and Vandalia areas. She worked in home health care for the Fayette County Health Department, and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Pana Eagles Club. She loved to dance and play bingo.
She is survived by her husband; children, Tanya and her husband David Hoffman of Vandalia, Christal Davis of Pana, Roger Gipson and his wife Nikki of Vandalia, Kenneth Moreland and his wife Lori of Eldridge, Iowa, Elaine Leigh of Pana, June Joplin of Pana, Barb and her husband David Finch of Brant, Mich., Bob Polley of Pana and Michael Moreland of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; eight great-stepgrandchildren; four sisters and four brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
