Dale E. Sperry, 51, of St. Elmo, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, in Effingham.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at First United Methodist Church in St. Elmo, with the Revs. Dan Laack and Tom Fedrigon officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo. Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorials: Donor's choice. Gieseking Funeral Home in Altamont was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Sperry was born on Thursday, March 2, 1967, in Pekin, the son of Roger and Marjorie (Rhodes) Sperry. He married Kay Marie Shane on Dec. 26, 1987, in Toluca.
He was the owner of Sperry's Service in St. Elmo, and was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 533 and Ainad Shrine, East St. Louis, Consistory.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Cody (Skylar) Sperry of St. Elmo, Benjamin Sperry of Mt. Vernon and Samuel Sperry of St. Elmo; parents, of Brownstown; sisters, Robin (Bernie) Harrison of South Pekin, and Amy (Ed) Stephens of Peoria; grandchildren, Lydia Sperry of St. Elmo, Dawson Sperry of Mt. Vernon and Mack Sperry of St. Elmo.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
