David L. Cearlock, 57, of Vandalia, died at 12:22 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013, in the emergency room at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Mulberry Grove, with the Rev. Benjamin Potter officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to services on Tuesday, both at the church. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Cearlock was born on Dec. 4, 1955, in Vandalia, the son of Delbert Dewayne Cearlock and Norma Grubaugh Cearlock Croasdale. He married Debra Goodin on Feb. 14, 1976, in Mulberry Grove.
He was a materials processor at VanSeal in Vandalia, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Vandalia.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Angela and her husband Christopher Smith of Pittsburg, and Staci and her husband Curtis Hampton of Greenville; grandchildren, Brendon, Ashton, Austin and Jackson Smith of Pittsburg, and Olivia Harlen and Katelinn Hampton of Greenville; "adopted" son, Tommy Kinkead and his wife Cathy, and children T.K., Levi and Chloe Kinkead, all of Vandalia; brother, Dewayne Cearlock and his wife Lisa of Vandalia; sister, Ann and her husband Robert Lash of Vandalia; father-in-law, Howard Goodin of Mulberry Grove; and all who loved him and all whom he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Steven Cearlock.
