Delores E. Eich, 84, of St. Elmo, passed away peacefully at 3:25 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Campus, with the Revs. Hake and LoPresti officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. Mrs. Eich was born into the Christian family of Royce and Elizabeth Verbic-Prouty. She began her life on March 21, 1930, along with her twin sister, in Joliet. After receiving her education, she married James Roy Eich on Feb. 4, 1956, in Rockdale.
The family later moved from Campus to St. Elmo, in 1975, enabling her husband to continue his employment with Natural Gas Pipeline. Jim preceded Delores in death, on Nov. 20, 2011.
Delores was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Elmo, and enjoyed her home, family, yard and fishing, and was an avid golfer.
She is survived by brothers-in-law, Anthony "Tony" Eich of Elwood, Gary Eich and his wife Sue of Reddick, Gene Eich of Clearwater, Fla., Robert Eich and his wife Rena of Herscher, LeRoy Eich and his wife Linda of Kankakee, Charles Eich and his wife Betty of Romeoville, David Eich and his wife Kathy of Rockford; sister-in-law, Evelyn Hanlin of Campus; and several nieces and nephews, including Judy and her husband Bud Bressner of Chenoa, and Cynthia and her husband Bob Vorachek of Palatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son; daughter, Nancy Jo Eich, as a result of an accident, in 1984; brother, Lawrence Prouty and his wife Dorothy; twin sister, Dorothy Foth; sister, Mary Catherine and her husband Donovan Bacon; and sister-in-law, Maureen Eich.
