Mrs. DeWayne L. "Dee" (Walton) Douglas, 61, of Vandalia, passed away at 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Louis Frick officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials: Second Chance Animal Rescue. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com.
Mrs. Douglas was born on Sept. 9, 1954, in Vandalia, the daughter of Wayne E. and Grace E. (Darner) Walton. She married John Douglas on Aug. 15, 1987; he preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1989.
She was a companion and caregiver to her mother, Grace, for many years. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, and was affiliated with First United Methodist Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by her sisters, Linda Walton, and Mary and her husband Stephen Poole; furry companion, Pugs; and her friends and caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
