Donald L. McMillan, 82, of Brownstown, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Brownstown.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Bob Chase officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Second Chance Animal Rescue in rural Vandalia. Online condolences may be expressed at www.millerfh.net.
Mr. McMillan was born on Dec. 13, 1932, in Loogootee, the son of Herbert and Nellie Alberta Swarm McMillan. He married Rosemary Eller on Sep. 28, 1980, in St. Elmo.
He was a general manager at Crane Packing in Vandalia; an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict; and a member of Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 and VFW Post 3862, both of Vandalia.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Deborah and her husband Dale Boatman Jr. of Salem; son, David McMillan of Salem; stepchildren, Mary Brown of Bingham, Wes Donaldson of Fillmore and Jane Langston of Vandalia; brother, Alvin McMillan and his wife Ann of Effingham; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
