Donna Jane Smail, 63, of Vandalia, died at 4 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Vandalia Rehabilitation Center in Vandalia.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Revs. Peter Kolb and Jerry Bagwell officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday and one hour before services on Monday, both at the church. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Miss Smail was born on June 15, 1950, in Vandalia, the daughter of John and Doris Rubin Smail.
She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by a brother, Carroll Smail and his wife Carol Ann of Moweaqua; sisters, Sheila and her husband Tom Hensley of Texarkana, Texas, and Betty and her husband Haldon Warner of Vandalia; three nephews; four nieces; a great-nephew; and nine great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Wesley Smail.
