Doyle Gene 'Shake' Beeson, 87, of Casey, formerly of Hillsboro and Fillmore, died at 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County.
Services will be held at noon on Saturday at Markwell Funeral Home at 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, with the Rev. Jeff Lakins officiating. Burial will be in Mount Cemetery, south of Casey, with military rites accorded by the Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion. Mr. Beeson was born on May 6, 1927, in Ratliff City, Okla., the son of Johnie and Audrey Bailey Beeson. He married Barbara Aileen Patterson on Oct. 23, 1947, in Brownstown.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Shirley and her husband Jerrell Whitten of Ramsey, and Deborah Wygal of Hillsboro; and sons, John Beeson and his wife Sally of Witt, Nate Beeson and his wife Lydia of Greenup, Victor Beeson and his wife Lori of Camargo, and Vincent Beeson and his wife Debra of Tuscola.
