Doyt A. Janes, 72, of Prairieville, La., formerly of St. Elmo, passed away at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Baton Rouge Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, at Household of Faith Church in Gonzales, La. Visitation was held two hours prior to services. Bruail was in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gonzales, La.
Mr. Janes was born on Feb. 25, 1946, in St. Elmo, the son of Ralph Wilson and Marguerite (Titus) Janes. He married Geraldine Dufrene of Lockport, La., on Sept. 6, 1974.
He was a 1964 graduate of St. Elmo High School, former member of First United Methodist Church in St. Elmo and a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Exxon/Mobil Pipeline, and was currently owner of Janes Enterprises in Prairieville, La., and an independent contractor with Exxon/Mobil.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Allan (wife, Tracy) Janes of Gheens, La., and Kevin (wife, Michelle) Janes of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughter, Angela (husband, Chris) Trahan of Gray, La.; brother, Kent Janes of St. Elmo; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Michelle (Janes) Songe; a brother, Randall Janes; and a sister, Janice (Janes) Moore.
