Etta Catherine Plank, 90, of Vandalia, passed away at 6:55 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Krista Stokke officiating. Memorials: St. James Lutheran Church or donor's choice. Mrs. Plank was born on Jan. 10, 1924, in Rutland, the daughter of Carl and Elsie Harms Arndt. She married Clark A. Plank on May 3, 1943, in San Diego, Calif.; he passed away on April 18, 2005.
She was a baker for Salem Elementary School in Salem, Mo., and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by her daughter, Deloris "Dee" and her husband James Wiswell of Mulberry Grove; brother, LaVerne Arndt and his wife Marjorie of Elwin; sister, Linda and her husband Bob Knebel of Vandalia; and granddaughter, Jamie Wiswell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Carl Arndt and George Arndt; and sisters, Mildred Elam and Elsie Ewers.
