M. Wilma Tackett, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Brownstown, passed away at 8:26 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. 2014, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at First Christian Church in Brownstown, with Kevin Bonifacius officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church. Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Tackett was born on Thursday, July 12, 1923, in Fayette County, the daughter of Russell Eugene and Vira Pauline Brown Williams. She married William Edwin Tackett on Sept. 8, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo.; he passed away on Feb. 4, 2002.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Brownstown.
She is survived by sons, Dennis Tackett and his wife Pam of Springfield, Charles Tackett and his wife Sandy of Mechanicsburg, Richard Tackett and his wife Sabrina of Shobonier, Bill Tackett and his wife Pat of Virden, and Toby Tackett and his wife Barbara of Brownstown; daughter, Donna and her husband Loren Fleming of Belleville; half brothers, Robert Williams of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jerry Williams and his wife Ellen of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Mary Carney of Chesterfield, Mo., and Ruth Schlicht of Sepulveda, Calif.; grandchildren, A.J., Tara, Levi, Jeni, Brett, Brian and Todd Tackett, Amy Hoehner, Mychelle Harbauer, Amy Phares, and Peter and Shawn Fleming; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randy Tackett; brother, Paul Williams; and brothers-in-law, Doug Carney and Jack Schlicht.
