Obituary

Frank Hayes, 72, of Concord, N.C., passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Northeast Hospital in Concord.
A private memorial service was to be held on Tuesday at the Refuge, Kannapolis, N.C. A memorial service will be held at noon on Aug. 1 at Unity Baptist Church on Ill. Route 185 and Airport Road in Vandalia, with visitation to be held from 11 a.m. until time of services. Online condolences may be expressed at wilkinsonfuneralhome.com
Mr. Hayes was born on July 31, 1942, in Glen Carbon. He was the son of Darel and Mary Hayes of Vandalia. Frank was the husband of Mary (Staff) Hayes, the father of three adult children and the grandfather of 10 grandchildren.
Frank worked throughout his career as a CPA until his retirement. He passionately loved God and his family.
Frank loved the Bible and is now experiencing the reality of one of his favorite verses, Hebrews 6:1 – ""Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.""
Besides his wife of 49 years, he is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Petrunich (husband Steve), son Frankie Hayes Jr. (wife Amy) and daughter Amanda Lotz (husband Eric), all of Concord, N.C.; grandchildren, Luke, Zachary, Mackenzie, Jordan, Jacob, Jarrod, Maddison, Emma, Peyton and Laney; parents, of Vandalia; and sisters, Connie Grether of Vandalia, Patty Smith of Carbondale, and Jessica Peyton of Vandalia.
