Glenn I. Bowen, 94, of Vandalia, died at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 12013, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Greenville.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery in Patoka. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and one hour before services on Saturday, both at the church. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bowen was born on April 6, 1918, in Sandoval, the son of Irvon and Matilda Terry Bowen. He married Genevieve Bryant Bowen on Dec. 12, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo.; she died on July 17, 1984.
He is survived by sons, Leon Bowen and his wife Patty of Vandalia, Dean Bowen and his wife Cheryl of Vandalia, Jim Bowen and his wife Mary of Vandalia, and Bob Bowen and his wife Ann of Keyesport; and daughters, Carole and her husband Jim Gueterloh of Hoffman, Barbara Snyder of Bloomington, Sharon and her husband Ron Thomason of Vandalia, and Susan and her husband Steve Murfin of Salem.
