Gloria A. Pyle, 82, of Vandalia, passed away at 6:55 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at her daughter's residence in Sycamore.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Curtis Sweeney officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery in VanBurensburg. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials: Northside Christian Church in Vandalia. Mrs. Pyle was born on July 18, 1934, in Pleasant Mound, the daughter of Leroy and Mildred (Wiles) Blankenship. She married Robert "Bob" Pyle on Aug. 5, 1972.
Gloria was employed by Crane Packing as a customer service representative for more than 25 years. She enjoyed camping and fishing with friends and family at Vandalia Lake, and was a member of Northside Christian Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Debra and her husband Lonnie Rolf of Sycamore; brother, Scott Walker and his wife Joyce of Irving; grandchildren, Jennifer Melton, Bethany and her husband Noe Escamilla, Mary "Catie" Smith, Sarah Rolf, and Zach Smith and his wife Jasmin; great-grandchildren, Chrissy Melton, Haley Smith, Caiden Melton, Parker Smith, Tristan Smith, Elijah Escamilla, Zoe Smith, Aaron Escamilla and Jax Smith; and nephew, Alan Blankenship of Irving.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Warren Bradley Smith; a brother, Jack Blankenship; and a sister, Linda Matthews.
