Gordon L. Grobengieser, 85, of Vandalia, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Krista Stokke officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: St. James Lutheran Church or Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care, both in Vandalia. Online condolences may be shared at www.millerfh.net.
Mr. Grobengieser was born on June 12, 1929, in Altamont, the son of George and Hilda L. Goers Grobengieser. He married Sandra K. Waddell on Feb. 20, 1960, in Vandalia.
He was a retired electrician for ExxonMobil, and a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia.
He is survived by his wife; son, Tim Grobengieser of Vandalia; daughters, Christy and her husband Gary Hamilton of Ballwin, Mo., and Stacy and her husband David Burgener of Vandalia; grandchildren, Ashley, Katelyn, Alexandria and Peyton; and great-grandchildren, Reagan and Zander.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Delbert; and a sister, Gladys.
