Obituary

Helen L. Sprinkle, 105, of Vandalia, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Robert Francisco officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: First Christian Church of Vandalia. Mrs. Sprinkle was born on April 3, 1913, in Vandalia, the daughter of Roll Benjamin and Bertha Christina (Jackson) Trueblood. She married Lee Roy Sprinkle on Nov. 18, 1933, in Sandoval; he passed away on Jan. 13, 1996.
She was a former teacher, homemaker and bookkeeper/clerk at Mabry's Travel Lodge. She was a member of First Christian Church in Vandalia, and was a gifted musician.
She is survived by nephews, Craig Trueblood and Susan of Murphysboro, Max Trueblood and Sue of Rolla, Mo., and Joel Trueblood of Colorado; several great-nephews and great-nieces; special caregivers; great-niece, Monica Fair of Chicago; and great-nephew, Eric Fair and Kathryn of St. Louis, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Carl Trueblood; sisters, Effie Jackson Denton, Blanche Kesler and Hetty Fair; and nephew, Rich Fair.
