Helen "Pinkie" Moore, 95, of Vandalia, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at her home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia, with Pastor Derek Mason and the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Memorials: First Presbyterian Church or Fayette County Health Department Hospice, both of Vandalia. Pinkie was born on Sept. 5, 1917, in rural Alton, the daughter of Thomas E. and Sarah Taylor Voumard. She married Dr. Stanley W. Moore on Sept. 10, 1946, in Anna; he passed away on June 8, 2004.
She was a retired registered nurse, member of First Presbyterian Church and former member of Vandalia Country and Golf Club. She was an avid golfer.
She is survived by daughters, Mary and her husband Mark Miller of Vandalia, Beverly and her husband Wayne Mason of Libertyville, Stephanie and her husband Jim Aldendifer of Plano, Texas, and Marsha and her husband Howard Gulick of Bethlehem, Pa.; grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Mark Daniels, Mark Miller II and his wife Brooke, Derek Mason, Brian Mason and his wife Erin, Chad Mason and his wife Katie, Jim, Brent and Peter Aldendifer, and Sarah and John Gulick; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Mitchell Daniels, Ashley, Samantha and Bailey Mason, and Jackson and Emma Mason; and sister, Hap Borchelt of Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Sonny and Ray Voumard; and sister, Dorothy Hardbeck.
