Mr. Miley was born on Aug. 10, 1934, in Washington, Ind., the son of Henry E. and Lula M. (Keen) Miley.
Henry moved to St. Francisville at an early age and attended both grade school and high school, graduating in 1953. After graduating and working at several jobs, he moved in 1954 to Springfield, where he met his future wife, Cora Dial. They were married on Aug. 12, 1955, and to this union, four children were born: David, Malinda, Carla and Dennis.
Emmet always enjoyed being with family and going to their sporting events, such as baseball, basketball, volleyball or whatever they were interested in. He liked to hunt in his early years when he had time. He also enjoyed the times he would ride horses at the home of his father- and mother-in-law, Zennie and Lodema Dial. He had his horses, Zipper and Jaz, whom he dearly loved before moving to St. Elmo. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; sons, David E. Miley, and Dennis Miley (Janetia Wells), both of St. Elmo; daughters, Malinda Miller and Carla Klincar (Jeffery Wright), both of St. Elmo; grandchildren, Eric Bockstruck (wife Shelby), Sasha Curry (husband Justin), Tori Carrell (husband David), Derek Klincar, Austin Miley (Alexis McCauley), Kate Miller and Lucas Miller; and great-grandchildren, Lexus Carrell, David Carrell III, Kaylie Curry, Andrea Curry, Peyton Curry, Charlie Bockstruck, Cole Brannan, Ethan Brannan and Kayden Willenborg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene; sisters, Ermal, Zelma, Mary, Dora, Norma and Shirley; niece, Brenda; nephews, Jerry, Timmy and Norman (who grew up with him as a brother, being only four months older than him).
