Holly Harvey, 40, of Hillsboro, died at 5:03 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Jeff Hemken, pastor of Calvary Baptist, officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery in VanBurensburg. Visitation was held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Jacob Behme.
Memorials: Montgomery County Cancer Association, Coffeen Food Pantry or Luck & Buck Saddle Club.
Ms. Harvey was born on Jan. 23, 1972, in Vandalia, a daughter of Marilyn (Guymon) Harvey and the late Verlin C. Harvey. She lived in the Coffeen and Hillsboro area her entire life.
A graduate of the Hillsboro High School Class of 1990, she received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree from St. John's School of Nursing in Springfield. Both an L.P.N. and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Ms. Harvey worked at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Golden Manor Nursing Home in Nokomis and Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs, and for Hillsboro Area Ambulance Service. A horse lover, she was a member of Luck & Buck Saddle Club, where she had served as president.
Along with her mother, Ms. Harvey is survived by companion, John Mondin of Hillsboro; a daughter, Mary Katherine "Katie" Mondin of Hillsboro; a stepdaughter, Kelby Mondin of Hillsboro; sisters, Barb and her husband Scott Bloemke of Kalaheo, Hawaii, and Lynn and her husband Dan Behme of Litchfield; nephews, Caleb Behme of Litchfield and Skye Bloemke of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and several aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a nephew, Jacob Behme.
