Obituary

Isaac Edgar "Ike" Ritchey, 85, of Shobonier, died at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. Burial will be in Farmers Cemetery in rural Shobonier, with military rites accorded by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 and Brownstown VFW Post 9770. Mr. Ritchey was born on Oct. 20, 1931, in Vandalia, the son of James LaFayette and Inis Viola (Etchason) Ritchey.
Survivors include companion, Patricia Ritchey of Shobonier; sons, James Ritchey of Paris, Ill., Charles Ritchey and his wife Lisa of Junction City, and Joseph and his wife DeeAnn of Shobonier; and daughters, Julie Irving of Kansas, Callie and her husband Paul Young of Texas, Pansy Parris of California, Starla Spender of Centralia, Sue Austin of Effingham, Rachel Hipsher of Shobonier, and Heidi and her husband George Campbell of Shobonier.
