Jennifer L. Knebel, 44, of Vandalia, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at her home.
Celebration of life services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at First United Methodist Church in Vandalia, with the Revs. Joe Lawson and Krista Stokke officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in St. Elmo. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until time of services on Monday at the church. Memorials: Evans Public Library or Old Capitol Foundation-Jennifer Knebel Scholarship Fund, c/o First National Bank's Vandalia location. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Knebel was born on July 10, 1970, in Decatur, the daughter of Mick and Molly L. Miller Rogers. She married Douglas L. "Doug" Knebel on March 10, 2010, in Sarasota, Fla.
Jennifer was a teacher at Vandalia Junior High School, was a former Girl Scout leader and was affiliated with St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by her father, Mick A. Rogers, Wright's Corner, Fayette County; husband; daughters, Carson and Caddie Howard of Vandalia; sister, Karla and her husband Chuck Harre of Vandalia; stepsons, Will and Samuel Knebel of Vandalia; and nephew and niece, Logan and Avery Rogers of Brownstown.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Molly Rogers, on May 22, 2008.
