Jewell Louverne Manley, 95, of Ramsey, died on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at her home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Christ Tabernacle Church in Herrick, with the Rev. Tom Suey officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday and one hour before services on Tuesday, both at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Manley was born on April 14, 1917, in Carson Township, the daughter of Silas Wright and Sallie Ann Barnett Carter. She married Ross Joseph Manley on Oct. 25, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo.; he died on March 22, 1971.
She was a farmer, a former reporter of the Ramsey News-Journal and a member of Christ Tabernacle Church.
She is survived by daughters, Saundra and her husband Warren Moore of Decatur, Sallie and her husband Joe Ed Burrus of Herrick, Sherry and her husband Kenneth Blankenship of Mt. Vernon, and Sheila and her husband Rick Herbord of Ramsey; brother, Wade Carter of Pana; grandchildren, Christine Moore and Stacey Hoadley of Decatur, Rocky Kramer of Herrick, Kendra Soule of Bluford, Kelly Rushing of Mt. Vernon, Emily Herbord and Derek Herbord of Ramsey, and Megan Weddle of Pana; great-grandchildren, Amber, Sarah, Brandy, Austin, Taylor, Tyson, Brandon, Emma, Brent, Sean, Katie, Karli, Memphis and Ireland; and great-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Braden, Alivia, Ayden, Easton, Olivia and Justin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; three sisters; and an infant granddaughter.
