Katherine C. "Chris" Henry, 81, of Vandalia, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Krista Stokke officiating. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery in rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Henry was born on May 20, 1933, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Chris and Vella K. Robertson Zuber. She married Neil E. Henry on June 7, 1951; he passed away on Nov. 24, 1996.
She was previously employed at the Fayette County Courthouse in the circuit and county clerk offices, was a secretary for Corbell Law Office and the Vandalia American Legion, was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by sons, David Henry and his wife Annette of Mulberry Grove, and Bruce Henry and his wife Misty of Vandalia; daughter, Sharon and her husband Reg Draper of Lincoln; grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Alyssa, Seth, Ali, Braden, Ashley and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Kaitlyn, Preston, Kullen, Glen, Liam, Cooper and Haeli; sisters, Martha Hahnenkamp of Litchfield, Mary and her husband Harlan Best of Staunton, and Imelda "Corky" Horn of Michigan; and sisters-in-law, Shirley and her husband Bill Brown, and Fern Henry, both of Vandalia, and Wilma Glick of Henderson, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Walter Symploski.
