Larry E. Williams, 76, of Ramsey, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia, with the Rev. Harry Kirk, Rev. Norris Price and Dr. Ben Foxworth officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date in Price Cemetery in rural Oconee. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Liberty Church in rural Bingham. Online condolences may be expressed at www.millerfh.net.
Mr. Williams was born on Feb. 5, 1938, in Assumption, the son of Russell Eugene and Amanda Evelyn Cortrecht Williams. He married Coline Mae Buckles in 1957, Patricia Utterback in 1974 and Linda Price Rickman on Nov. 15, 1994, in Ramsey.
He was the owner/operator of Central Illinois Aluminum; a member of Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia and Ramsey Lions Club; and was affiliated with Liberty Church in rural Bingham. He served in the Army, and is a former mayor of Ramsey who was very active in community affairs.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Darin Williams of Arvada, Colo., Damon Williams of Fillmore and David Nichols of Mattoon; daughter, Deana Hyde of Cerro Gordo; eight grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Williams of Mt. Zion, Leland "Pete" Williams of Dalton City and Merle Williams of Custer Park; sister, Phyllis Goodbred of Mt. Zion; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl Williams.
