Lavon Eyman, 90, of rural Keyesport, formerly of the Patoka and Pittsburg areas, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Greenville Regional Hospital in Greenville.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday at Young Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial was in Taylor Cemetery. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Taylor Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.youngfh.net.
Mrs. Eyman was born on Nov. 30, 1925, in Patoka, the daughter of George and Hazle Pearl (Walker) Peddicord. She married Elbert Eyman on Nov. 30, 1945; he died on June 26, 1990.
Lavon grew up in the Patoka and Pittsburg areas, and graduated from Carlyle High School. She and her husband lived south of Dudleyville, then moved to rural Keyesport, south of Columbus Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Karen and her husband Rex Royer of Patoka, Dean Eyman and his wife Tammy of Vandalia, Lavonna and her husband James Daniels of Keyesport, Diane Rosenberger of Ramsey, Danny Eyman of Keyesport, Rickey Eyman and his wife Dita of Vernon, Jerry Eyman of St. Elmo, Judy and her husband Mark Wilkerson of Hagarstown, Mike Eyman and his wife Stella of Ramsey, Jane Linville of Vandalia and Sherri Forbes of Ramsey; sisters, June and her husband Cecil Thalman of Patoka, and Jean Obermark of Highland; brother, Don Peddicord and his wife Sharon of Irving; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Gloria June Eyman; a son, Elbert Wesley Eyman; half sister, Anna Mae Cripe; half brother, Cecil Peddicord; and granddaughters, Wendy and Mary.
