Luella Emily Leach, 83, of Ramsey, passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Michael W. Mohr officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Vera. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and an hour before services on Saturday, both at the church. Memorials: Holy Cross Lutheran Church or . Mrs. Leach was born on Oct. 24, 1934, in Decatur, the daughter of Erich and Celena (Woijeck) Bombal. She married Victor V. Leach on Nov. 24, 1957; together, they celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Luella was formerly an elementary school teacher for the Ramsey School District, retiring after 34 years. She was the owner and operator of Ceramics Unlimited in Ramsey for nearly 30 years, as well as a Mary Kay beauty consultant. She enjoyed teaching and volunteering for social functions, especially those that involved children. Luella was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she previously taught Sunday school, and American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 460.
She is survived by her husband; son, Gary Leach of Ramsey; daughter, Vicky Schaal and husband Matthew of Ramsey; grandchildren, Brady Haupt and wife Megan, and Cory Schaal, both of Ramsey; great-granddaughter, Brooke Haupt of Ramsey; and sister, Florence Tate of Vandalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Donald Bombal, Michael Bombal and Anna Batty.
