M. Keith Betts, 81, of Anderson, Ind., passed away peacefully, August 2, 2015, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory in Anderson, Ind., with the Rev. Donna Goings officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: Diabetic and Supplies Division-St. Vincent Regional Hospital Foundation. Online condolences may be expressed at www.brownbutzdiedring.com.
Mr. Betts was born on Sept. 16, 1933, in Vernon, the son of Cloud and Helen (Doolen) Betts.
He was a 1952 graduate of Vandalia Community High School, and he received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois. Keith moved to Anderson, Ind., in 1968, and in 1977 founded M.K. Betts Engineering and Contracting Inc. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine Temple and Madison County Shrine Club. He was past president of the Edgewood Country Club and the Association of General Contractors of Indiana. Keith enjoyed fishing, golf and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his four children, Greg (Jerri) Betts, Teresa (Bruce) Hendricks, Chris Betts and Mike (Dee Wilkins) Betts, all of Anderson, Ind.; grandchildren, Amber (Seth) Johnsen, Autumn (Jim) Pratt, Jordan (Brandon) Moore, Chris (Nikki) Gamble, Carissa (Chris) Stevens, Kellie (Zac) Mattox, Justin (fiancé, Amber Cross) Troub, Ryan Troub, Destinee Troub, Ian Betts and Zoey Betts; and great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph A. (Helen) Betts of Texas; special friend, Delila Beckman of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Ann Betts, in 2012; and one great-grandson, Chandler Jude Moore.
