Marsha Kay Sutton, 64, of Riverton, formerly of Vandalia, passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015, at her home.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Riverton First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bobbi Blackard officiating. A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Memorials: Riverton First United Methodist Church or St. Louis Zoo Foundation. Mrs. Sutton was born in Vandalia, the daughter of Otto and Freada Abendroth Klukis. She married Donald Edward Sutton on Nov. 23, 1973.
She was a member of Riverton First United Methodist Church and a proud member of the St. Louis Zoo Foundation. She had a love for giraffes, but her greatest love was her grandchildren. She was an administrative assistant for the Boys and Girls Club, retiring after many years of service.
She is survived by her husband; children, Benjamin Sutton and his wife Aimee of Springfield, Katherine Sutton of Bunker Hill, and Samantha and her husband Tyler Sloman of Illiopolis; grandchildren, Joseph Sutton, Alexander Sloman, Madalyn Sloman and Eleanor Sloman; sister, Marilee Kuehn of Palmetto, Fla.; brother, Keith Klukis and his wife Flo-Ann of Oviedo, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
