Mary Jean Hayes, 85, of Taylor Springs, formerly of Ramsey, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Taylor Springs.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Ramsey, with the Revs. Jeff Shouse and Harry Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour before services, both at the church. Memorials: Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs. Mrs. Hayes was born on Feb. 1, 1932, in Vandalia, the daughter of Lester Milton and Pauline Marie (Trexler) Tedrick. She married Oral "Rex" Hayes on Sept. 27, 1949, in Mulberry Grove; Rex passed away on July 20, 2015.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Hayes Spreading Service in Ramsey and a member of First Baptist Church in Ramsey.
She is survived by sons, Michael Hayes and his wife Robin, and Mark Hayes and his wife Janice, both of Ramsey; daughters, Karen Hayes of Evansville, Ind., Kathy and her husband Lloyd Weiss of Clinton, and Pamela and her husband David McFarland of Ramsey; sister, Ruth and her husband Bob Lowrance of Effingham; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Kay; brothers, Kenneth, Charles and Jerry Tedrick; and sisters, Judy Brinkmeier, Marilyn Merriman and Janet Maitland.
