Obituary

Mary Lee Reeves Whitten, 87, of Hillsboro, formerly of Vandalia, died at 3:24 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with the Revs. Jeff Hemken and Ernest Flowers officiating. Burial was in Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen. Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Bass, Patton, Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Whitten was born on Jan. 23, 1926, in Coffeen, the daughter of John and Hazel Havron Sills. She married Clayton Reeves on Feb. 13, 1942, in Troy, Mo.; he preceded her in death. She married Harold Whitten on Feb. 15, 1997, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Dale Reeves and his wife Janet of Vandalia; and stepchildren, Harold Dean Whitten and his wife Linda of Colleyville, Texas, Mike Whitten and his wife Cheryl of Hillsboro, Doris and her husband Dr. Roger McFarlin of Hillsboro, Mary Lou Whitten of Hillsboro, Gayle and her husband Roy Harrell of Hillsboro, and Paula Luebbert of Hillsboro.
