Mava Kathryn Saunders Holaday, 93, of Vandalia, passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials: First United Methodist Church of Vandalia. Mrs. Holaday was born on Dec. 29, 1920, in Xenia, the daughter of Francis M. and Ethel Lewis Saunders. She married William W. Holaday in March 1941; he passed away in April 1994.
She was a homemaker, a member of First United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.
She is survived by sons, Paul Holaday and his wife Betty of Fargo, N.D., and Morris Holaday and his wife Kay of Vandalia; daughter, Nancy and her husband Steve Chace of Bloomington; grandchildren, William Holaday and his wife Pam of Minneapolis, Minn., David Holaday and his wife Cindy of Fargo, N.D., Darren Holaday and his wife Kelly of Fargo, N.D., Susan and her husband Clark Durbin of Vandalia, Brian Holaday and his wife Amy of Vandalia, Diane and her husband Jeff Isringhausen of Vandalia, Daniel Chace and his wife Angela of Columbia, Ill., and Neil Chace and his wife Adelia of St. Louis, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Makala Holaday, Stephanie Bosch, Jessica and Kristopher Holaday, PJ and Lucy Holaday, Amber, Abby and Austin Durbin, Mackenzie Graumenz, Matthew and Eric Holaday, Issac and Avery Isringhausen, Emily and Amanda Chace, and Cecilia and Francis Chace; and great-great-granddaughter, Amelia Graumenz, due in February.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Frances Holaday; three brothers; and four sisters.
