Max L. Whited, 83, Mulberry Grove
Max Lewis Whited, 83, of Mulberry Grove, died at 1:58 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Mulberry Grove Church of Christ, with pastor friends officiating. Burial was in McInturff Cemetery in Hagarstown. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Donnel-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Woburn Church of Christ Missions or St. Louis Christian College.
Mr. Whited was born on Sept. 3, 1928, in The Dalles, Ore., the son of Lewis Alsbury and Edna Louise Wilcox Whited. He married Norma L. Elam on June 24, 1950, at Mulberry Grove Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife; and children, Jane and her husband Roger Sanders of Greenville, Joy and her husband Ken Manning of Taylorville, Jill and her husband Kurt Jensen of Murphysboro, Jo Anne and her husband Dan Johnson of Mulberry Grove, and Janine Artis of Buffalo, N.Y.
