Michael Edward Wasmuth, 63, of St. Peter, passed away at 8:05 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at his home.
Private memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter, with the Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery in St. Peter. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Peter. Memorials: The family. Mr. Wasmuth was born on Dec. 27, 1951, in Vandalia, the son of William D. and Carol Kistler Wasmuth. He married Vanessa Ann Opfer on Sept. 9, 1972, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in St. Peter.
He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, collecting farm literature and toy tractors, spending time at the farm, and sitting by the picnic table observing life and nature. He worked at Rothe Chevrolet and Equipment in St. Peter and Greenline in Farina.
He is survived by his father, of Shobonier; wife; son, Douglas Wasmuth and special friend Jill Martin of Carlyle; brothers, Edward "Ollie" Wasmuth and his wife Traci of Shobonier, and Gene Fenton Jr. of Vandalia; sisters, Susan and her husband Max Reuscher of Vandalia, and Lori Ann and her husband Joe Forehand of Bolder; and his special buddies, Jenna and Jaclyn Martin.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
