Mildred "Irene" Forehand, 90, of Vandalia, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Zbinden officiating. Burial will be in Green-Hill Cemetery in rural Fillmore. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: Green-Hill Cemetery. Online condolences can be expressed at
Mrs. Forehand was born on Oct. 11, 1926, in Pope Township, rural Fayette County, the daughter of Emmett Merle and Claritta Pearl (Wilson) Caudle. She married Clarence Forehand Jr. on July 21, 1945, in Vandalia; he passed away on March 2, 2012.
She was a homemaker and farmer, and a member of Vandalia Woman's Club, Fayette County Farm Bureau Women's Committee, Fayette County Home Extension and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by sons, Gerald Forehand and his wife Elaine, and Dale Forehand, both of Vandalia; brothers, Glen Caudle of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Howard Caudle and his wife Donna of Decatur; grandchildren, Shane Forehand and his wife Deenie, and Jeremy Forehand, both of Vandalia, Cheryl and her husband Larry Morefield of Ramsey, and Lori Davis of Greenville; and great-grandchildren, Austin Morefield, Dalton and Cole Forehand, and Blake and Alex Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Melissa Forehand; and a brother, Merle Caudle.
