Morgan Wade Pryor Sr., 71, of Brownstown, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Lakeland Healthcare Center in Effingham.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at First Christian Church in Brownstown, with the Rev. Kevin Bonifacius officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Mr. Pryor was born on June 29, 1943, in rural Vandalia, the son of Harold and Bess Young Pryor. He married Phyllis Miller on May 12, 2006, in Brownstown.
He worked as a salesman for Standard Life Insurance and Woodmen of the World, and was a sales manager for Richardson Brothers Greenhouse in St. Elmo. He was a member of First Christian Church in Brownstown; was a past volunteer for the Brownstown Fire Department; has served on the Fayette County Board and Brownstown Village Board; and was a member of ESDA and Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife; son, Morgan Pryor and his wife Becky of Grinnell, Iowa; daughter, Christine Pryor and fiancé Joseph Gallo of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepchildren, Deborah Baker, George Lensgraf, Siri Lensgraf, Lisa and her husband Bruce Benedict, Zachary Lensgraf, Thomas Lensgraf, and Molly and her husband Troy Holladay; brothers, Preston Pryor and his wife Lynn of Springfield, and Spencer Pryor and his wife Cindy of Altamont; grandchildren, Taylor and her husband Trent Casey, Lane Thompson and Luke Thompson; great-grandchildren, Gunner, Addie and Brodie Casey; stepgrandchildren, Carey Buxman, George Lensgraf, Sunny Lensgraf, Chase Dooley, Logan Dooley, Max Dodson, Emily Lensgraf, Sabrina Lensgraf, Payton Malcom and Fiona Holladay; and eight great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith Pryor.

Morgan and I ran around a little when we were high school age. I talked to him at Lakeland a couple of months ago when I went there to play piano. He was a good friend. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. He is in the arms of the Lord now. Rest well my friend.
