Neva L. Hoffman, 95, of Vandalia, formerly of Ramsey, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Dr. Ben Foxworth officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in rural Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Online condolences can be expressed at www.millerfh.net.
Mrs. Hoffman was born on Aug. 12, 1921, in Ramsey, the daughter of Delbert and Ida Belle (Worker) Rhodes. She married Charles Leroy Hoffman on Feb. 26, 1938, in Shafter Township; he passed away on March 21, 2005.
Neva was a homemaker and farm wife who loved cooking and doing crafts. She was famous for her chicken and noodles, and her commitment to her family and her faith, considering Mt. Carmel Church as home. She was a long-time member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Ramsey Baptist Church, both in Ramsey, and Bethel Baptist Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by grandchildren, Keith Sanders and his wife Dee of Vandalia, Kent Sanders and his wife Karen of Ramsey, and Kendra and her husband Andy Craig of Vandalia; great-grandchildren, Christopher Sanders and his wife Alyssa, Jessica and her husband Reid Torbeck, Kelby Sanders, and Sarah and Gracie Craig; and great-great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Preston, Abigail and Isabela.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Shirley Sanders, on March 15, 2015; brothers, Clyde and Nova; and sister, Elsie Kueper.
