Norma J. Warner, 87, of Vandalia, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Terry Westerfield and Al Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held one hour before services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: United Methodist Women at First United Methodist Church of Vandalia. Mrs. Warner was born on June 6, 1927, in Vandalia, the daughter of Harry Austin and Amelia May Stimson Thompson. She married Clarence Eugene "Gene" Warner on May 12, 1944, in Vandalia; he passed away on April 16, 2007.
She was a retired floral designer for Vandalia Greenhouse, and was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, Crawford-Hale American Legion Unit 95 Auxiliary and Cameo Club, and was a Pink Lady at Fayette County Hospital. Norma was an avid saver and quilt maker.
She is survived by a son, Steve Warner and his wife Nancy of Shobonier; grandsons, Ronnie Warner and his wife Melissa of Vandalia, and Jason Warner and his wife Rachel of Florissant, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Casey, Taylor, Claire and Dean; nephews, Paul, Harold and Jerry Fisher; and nieces, Ginny Wilber, Alice Thompson and Ruth Vanzee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight brothers and two sisters.
