Norma "June" Trexler, 84, of Vandalia, passed away at 9:56 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at her home.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia, with the Rev. Harry Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Ritter Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Ritter Cemetery or Liberty Church in Bingham. Mrs. Trexler was born on March 13, 1930, in Shafter Township, Fayette County, the daughter of Ernest William and Morna Bess Himes. She married Maurice Trexler on Aug. 17, 1947.
She was a homemaker and bookkeeping secretary at Vandalia Citizens Savings and Loan. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Women of the Moose and Democratic Party, and a former member of Soroptimist International of Vandalia.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Charles Trexler and his wife Joyce of Vandalia, Robert "Bob" Trexler and his wife Renee of Vandalia, and Kent and his wife Andrea of Rochester; brother, Clarence Himes of New Mexico; sister, Betty Snyder of Vandalia; grandchildren, Beth, Jill, Kevin, Kyle, Jennifer, Jason and Amy; and great-grandchildren, Landon, Lauren, Audriana, Bryton, Alyssa and Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathy Trexler; sisters, Esther Traylor, Evelyn Scott, Bernice Roe and Verna Stallings; and brothers, Marsden Himes, Raymond Lee Himes and Maurice Dean Himes.
