Obituary

Norma L. Barker, 87, of rural Smithfield, formerly of St. James, deid at 10:50 p.m. on Friday, Dec 19, 2014, at her home.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Niantic United Methodist Church, with the Revs. C.W. Reneker and Ardith Corsaw officiating. Burial was in Pinhook Cemetery in rural Vandalia. Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Mrs. Barker was born on Aug. 20, 1927, in St. James, the daughter of Frank and Elsie Calvert Swarm. She married Everett Kirkman on Aug. 30, 1949, in Vandalia; he died on Jan. 9, 1959. She married Carl Barker on Sept. 4, 1978; he died on Oct. 26, 2010.
Survivors include daughters, Ardith and her husband Dave Corsaw of rural Smithfield, and Carol and her husband Rod Orr of Maryville; and a son, Ken Kirkman and his wife Terri of Tremont.
