Pat Rhodes, 57, of Brownstown was chosen to be one of God's angels on May 17, 2014, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis with his wife, Lola, and his son, Patrick, by his side.
Visitation will be on Thursday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown from 5-7 p.m., and at the conclusion of visitation a brief memorial service will by officiated by Pee Wee Denton. Memorials: The family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.giesekingfh.com.
Mr. Rhodes was born on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 1956 in Fayette County, the son of Truman and Ida Haslett Rhodes. He married Lola Eads on July 24, 1984, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Altamont.
Pat's joys in life were playing music with his family, working in the oil field, John Wayne, playing Saturday night poker, laughing and making others laugh. He was a gentle giant who over the years offered his gift of listening to area youth that had sought guidance in their lives. He was always looking to help others.
Pat is survived by his wife; sons, Patrick Rhodes and special friend Becky Logue, and Errick McKinney of Olney; sisters, Marjorie and her husband Roger Sperry, Sharon and her husband Wilson Stine, Pauletta and her husband Kenny Hardig, Susie and her husband Tim Flowers, Mary and her husband Jake Brown, and Penny Miller; brothers, Joe Rhodes and Mike Rhodes; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Knierim; and a sister in infancy, Billie Jo Rhodes.
