Patsy L. Schutz, 86, of Vandalia, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at her home in Brookstone Estates in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown, with the Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday and one hour before services on Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Memorials: Haley Chapel in Bluff City or donor's choice. Patsy was born on Saturday, Aug. 30, 1930, in Vandalia, the daughter of Eugene "Bonnie" and Flossie (Kistler) Schutz.
She was a faithful member of Haley Chapel United Methodist Church in Brownstown. She was a member of the Vandalia Chamber of Commerce, and was a past Woman of the Year Award recipient from Soroptimist International of Vandalia.
She began employment at Burtschi Bros. Title Co. in Vandalia immediately following high school graduation in 1949, and has been owner of the company since 1989.
She was preceded in death by her parents and half brother, Larry Crotser.
In memory of Patsy, Burtschi Bros. Title Co. will close at noon on Monday and remain closed on Tuesday.
