Rex Hayes, 83, of Hillsboro, formerly of Ramsey, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsboro.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at First Baptist Church in Ramsey, with the Revs. Don Price and Jeff Shouse officiating. Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday and one hour before services on Friday, both at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hayes was born on Nov. 26, 1931, in Fayette County, the son of Oral John and Ethel Augusta Hill Hayes. He married Mary Jean Tedrick on Sept. 27, 1949, in Mulberry Grove.
He was the owner/operator of Re-Mar Grain in Ramsey, a former employee of Midwest Milk and a member of First Baptist Church in Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Michael Hayes and his wife Robin, and Mark Hayes and his wife Janice, both of Ramsey; daughters, Karen Hayes of Chrisman, Kathy and her husband Lloyd Weiss of Clinton, and Pamela and her husband David McFarland of Ramsey; brother, Leo Hayes and his wife Juanita of Ramsey; sisters, Barbara Jackson of Taylorville, and Bette and her husband Troy Radford of Nokomis; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marsha Kay Hayes; and a sister
