Robert L. "Bob" Durbin, 77, of Vandalia, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, in his home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Revs. Tim Logue and Tom Farris officiating. Burial will be in German Reform Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Fayette County Health Department Hospice. Mr. Durbin was born on Feb. 20, 1937, in Loogootee, the son of John and Ruth Fair Durbin. He married Twyla J. Haynes Seely on June 19, 1993, in Vandalia.
Bob was a head man-case prep employee at John Crane Packing Co. in Vandalia, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Vera Baptist Church in Vera, and was affiliated with First Church of God in rural Vandalia.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Teresa Bruck of Pekin; stepson, Kevin Seely and his wife Victoria of Mulberry Grove; brothers, Jim Durbin and his wife Nancy of Beecher City, and John Durbin and his wife Katy of Lodi, Wis.; sisters, Betty Aldridge of St. Elmo, Sue and her husband Lloyd Morris of Mason, and Karel and her husband Ray Ouellette of Ocala, Fla.; grandsons, Michael Bruck, and Jonathan and James Seely; and granddaughter, Anjel Bruck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Kenny R. Durbin; and a sister, Frieda Craig.
