Rosalie E. Hoover, 85, of St. Peter, passed away at 12:59 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Loogootee, with the Rev. Krista Stokke officiating. Burial will be in Old Loogootee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at Pagel Funeral Home. Memorials: Old Loogootee Cemetery or donor's choice. Online condolences can be expressed at www.pagelfuneralhome.com.
Mrs. Hoover was born on May 23, 1931, in Farina, the daughter of Bruce and Gladys (Brown) VanSant. She married Siebert Leon Hoover on Dec. 1, 1951, in Farina.
Rosalie was a member of Zion Lutheran church and Daughters of Zion. She was an organist at Zion Lutheran Church for several years. Her favorite pastimes were crossword puzzles, quilting, traveling and doing crafts.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Hoover and his wife Dawn, and Greg Hoover and his wife Julie, both of St. Peter; grandchildren, Matt Hoover and his wife Anne, Tricia Hoover, Nate Hoover and his companion Gina Galuzzi, Amber and her husband Bill Foster, Aleah Runge and her companion Shannon Demain, and Audra and her husband Theron Arnold; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, after 61 wonderful years of marriage; a daughter, Gail, in infancy; a sister, Frances Storck; and a granddaughter, Melissa Hoover.
