Ruby B. Funk, 87, of Greenville, formerly of Shobonier and Vandalia, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at her home.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Young Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Bond County Hospice or Greenville First Baptist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.youngfh.net.
Mrs. Funk was born on Dec. 31, 1928, in Shobonier, the daughter of Jesse W. and Hallie (Blankenship) Zimmerman. She married Charles Herbert Funk on June 19, 1948, in Vandalia; he died on July 6, 2007.
She was born and raised in the Shobonier area, and attended Shobonier Grade School and Vandalia High School. She worked for Illinois Bell in Vandalia until she started her family. She and her husband moved to Greenville, where he worked for Illinois Power. She moved to The Glenwood after her husband died. She was a member of the Greenville First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Pam Funk of O'Fallon, and Randy Funk and his wife Karen of Randolph, N.J.; sister, Bonnie Donnals of Vandalia; and a grandchild, Ashley Funk.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Terry Funk; and a grandson, Daniel Funk.
